DUSA Virtual Leader
“A leader is someone who demonstrates what’s possible.”- Mark Yarnell.
Due to the pandemic, all the On-campus events were ceased. DUSA came up with various online events and programs. One of the programs was Virtual Leader that allowed a student to volunteer and run sessions to share the knowledge that possesses with other fellow mates. I took this opportunity and became one of the first volunteers to run a session and taught the Spanish language at the beginner's level in T3 2020. The first session was a success, and I was asked to run another session in T1 2021. I managed both the sessions from planning to execution. I wanted my fellow mates to understand that learning is not just academic and the importance of knowing more than one language. It is always a great experience helping people out. In this role, I understood that I had to be passionate about the work I do and then I will have higher chances of flourishing at it. I understood that passion was exertion, effort, and the idea of never giving up which somewhere helped me improve and evolve as a leader. I displayed authentic enthusiasm which helped me achieve my goals.
