DeakinTALENT Freelancing HUB
"Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other." -John F. Kennedy.
My course structure didn’t offer any WIL units. As I was keen to learn and get experience within Deakin, I requested Course Director to study WIL Unit to gain practical experience. With the approval, I was able to intern with DeakinTALENT’s FreelancingHUB in T2,2020. I worked in a team of 7 students from a multi-disciplinary background. For my project, I was appointed as the Assistant Team Leader of my team. I helped with the legal and risk assessment part of the project. Besides, I had helped to keep the team managed, delegating tasks, planning, organizing, and implementing the project. I stepped up and volunteer to be an assistant team leader as I saw that my team leader could use some help as the project scope was very broad and stressful. To improve the coordination and achieve smooth and effective communication between the team members, I had asked my teammates to join Trello. Using Trello helped us achieve the goal in a timely manner. This experience helped me to improve my teamwork skills too as I had the opportunity to boost my team's morale and have personal feedback sessions every week so that we can help each other in becoming a better version of ourselves.
