FEEDING INDIA

“Leadership is not about title or designation. It’s about impact, influence, and inspiration.”- Rolin Sharma.

I joined as a volunteer in December 2017. Later In 2019, I got an opportunity to be a City leader for Ahmedabad Chapter. The role of the organization is to collect excess food from functions, parties, restaurants, events. Check the food quality and feed the needy ones. I was able to raise awareness in the city by partnering with corporate organizations and later go for the donation drives. I was able to partner with different restaurants and function halls to give a call for excess food.

At a times, Feeding India joined hands with other organizations such as Robin Hood Army in the city- where I used to ask other organizations if our team couldn’t collect excess food. The Ahmedabad team also raised donations for cities affected by Natural Calamities, and it was published in Newspaper “Divya Bhaskar”. I also used to celebrate festivals with the needed ones by creating a safe environment. One of them was KITE FESTIVAL- where I was able to raise funds for buying kites- and later we celebrated the festival with them. The skills that I practiced the most were self-management, critical and innovative thinking, problem-solving, strategic actions, and respect.

The reason that motivated me to join hands with the organization was food being wasted at private parties and function halls and on the other hand, more than 50% approximately of the world does not get a two-time proper meal. Initially, the Feeding India team was able to collect excess food for 60 people but in 2019, I and My team were able to feed 2000+ people per day till today.
